IR seems like a lot of work...
Not after you take this course once you understand how to estimate for the insurance companies, what the challenges and opportunities are with policyholders, adjusters, and your subcontractors it's very straightforward. And when you consider how much easier it will be to market yourself and win new jobs in IR as opposed to pitching yourself to homeowners every week many contractors decide this is an easier way to make a good living!
Doesn’t IR involve a lot of clean-up work?
The good news is that typically, insurance companies contract separately to companies that specialize in clean-up, storage and environmental mitigation. Usually, you can concentrate on what you do best and will not be burdened with this part of the job at all.
But business is great right now!
Don't count on it staying that way forever it never does, unless you're in the Insurance Restoration business. The hard numbers? The average homeowner:
Only does a major renovation every 25 years
But most file a home insurance claim every 7 years
